Smart Commercial Kitchen® First Application Software Registered as NAFEM Data Protocol Compliant STRATFORD, Conn., September 5, 2003 -- Smart Commercial Kitchen (SCK®) announced today that its mySCK application has been registered as NAFEM Data Protocol Compliant making it the first application software listed as supporting the recently introduced industry standard. The mySCK software, first introduced at NAFEM ’01, now leverages the common industry standard protocol to expand the list of available foodservice equipment it supports. The NAFEM Data Protocol has eliminated the need for SCK to develop custom interfaces for each individual manufacturer or equipment model. The mySCK application uses access to a suite of application modules built on top of an intelligent open-architecture JAVA decision engine. Standard modules of the system include: Production and Quality Management, Food Safety/HACCP Monitoring, and Asset Management. mySCK can be used in a local host mode or as an enterprise web-based application. The product can be deployed using a single application module or as a complete suite. In addition to foodservice equipment, the mySCK application also supports interfaces to POS systems. Using the POS link, operators have a closed loop management tool for reducing speed of service times, increasing product freshness, and optimizing inventory control. When used as an enterprise application, mySCK retrieves data over the Internet from remote restaurant servers or appliances through a variety of available communications topologies. mySCK supports wired and wireless Ethernet, DSL, Wireless WAN, or dial-up services. Operators are able to aggregate and compare data across any number of worldwide geographically dispersed foodservice locations.
