SCK® and Progressive Software Demonstrate POS Interoperability at NAFEM ’03 Show STRATFORD, Conn., September 5, 2003 -- Smart Commercial Kitchen (SCK), a pioneer of on-line kitchen technologies and Progressive Software, Inc., a leading provider of Point-of-Sale (POS) technology solutions announced today that they are demonstrating interoperability between POS and kitchen management applications during the NAFEM ’03 Show in New Orleans later this week. The demonstration which will be operating at SCK booth number 1520 during show hours uses the latest XML software technology to transfer POS information real-time to the SCK applications. By linking real-time sales data received thru the Progressive IRIS POS software, SCK applications create a closed loop production management tool for reducing order delivery time, increasing product freshness, and optimizing inventory control. SCK software tracks product inventory as it flows through the kitchen, recording data about the mix of products in inventory or those currently being prepared. Using real-time sales data gathered from the Progressive IRIS POS software, SCK intelligently schedules and prompts the crew to start product preparation. The software automatically compares the actual sales data to inventory targets and signals when expired product should be discarded. This helps maintain optimum inventory levels, and automatically directs replenishment to occur eliminating out of product conditions. The integrated report module gives the restaurant management access to enhanced historical data to track execution, product waste, speed of service time, out of product conditions along with statistics on the volume of product prepared. Corporate management can easy view performance and compare metrics across locations using the enterprise version of the SCK software. About Smart Commercial Kitchen® About Progressive Software
