Wireless Solutions Being Employed to Control Kitchen Processes Aboard Navy Ships

In an effort to streamline equipment functionality, reduce maintenance and save labor, the Systems Equipment and Engineering Team at the Department of Defense Combat Feeding Directorate in Natick, Mass. is developing a Smart Galley Process Control System.

Recently demonstrated during the Combat Feeding Research and Engineering Board conference was SCK Direct, Inc.’s Smart Commercial Kitchen® wireless online kitchen management solution. A (FASTRON.)® 16 button Silver Edition Oven Controller from Food Automation – Service Techniques, Inc., embedded with the SCK software, was retrofitted to a sub-hatchable convention oven in a mock galley.
